

George II Sterling Silver Spirit Kettle with Kettle stand by Lewis Pantin I, London, 1735 & 1736.
A Magnificent silver George II Spirit Kettle with a hinged handle with the original spirit kettle stand - which is extremely rare to find - by Lewis Pantin I, in London 1735 (Spirit Kettle) & 1736 (Spirit Kettle stand). This striking piece has a nautical theme with shells lying in sea sand, seaweed, figureheads and the three cast feet of the tray are modelled in the form of an antique mystical fish - all this to create a masterpiece. The hinged cover is surmounted by an impressive cast silver pineapple finial. There are scroll, floral and foliate designs embellished on the rim and middle part of the tray, on the tea kettle spout, body and stand. The spirit kettle is still fitted with the original chains and security pegs. (Note: the leather handle has some age related wear which is normal for pieces from this period).
